Magnifying glasses are a great addition to a science center, but you need to have small miniature objects or objects with texture to use with them. This magnifying board has a clear top that screws on so that you can remove it and change the items in the board. Its great for collecting small things during a nature walk. This board came from Lakeshore.
You could also make magnifying tubes, similar to the magnet tubes I have made. Someone creative also came up with an idea to make a magnifying board with petri dishes (links to another site).
