Polka Dot Classroom Labels

by Karen on August 1, 2011

I am so infatuated with polka dots this year! Actually, it started when I was a little girl… I wanted all of my dresses to be long and polka dotted. :)

I have seen several pictures of classrooms on Pinterest lately with cute polka dot labels, but I haven’t been able to find them in the store, so I made some myself. I am making these available on Teachers Pay Teachers, but they are FREE. All you have to do is go here to get the Polka Dot Labels and hit the “Download Now” button. It’s a Word file, so you can type your own text onto the labels.

I would really appreciate it if you would give me positive ratings & feedback on TPT if you like this set.

Back to School Sale on TPT

TPT is running a 10% off sale sitewide for Back to School from Aug. 1-6. Use code B1T1S. Many of the sellers there are also adding an extra 20% off (note that TPT only allows individual sellers to run a sale up to 4 days). If you like the Polka Dot Labels, you might also be interested in the Polka Dot Kids Classroom Theme.

This is just what I needed to finish up my own polka dot themed classroom for the fall! I LOVE IT! My version of Word does not support a .docx file….any way to getting this file in .doc? Thank you!

Thanks Christina! I will send it to your email address. There is something you can download from Microsoft so that you can view docx files on older versions of Word. I had it on my computer at school

Eilis, thanks for the printouts. I plan to use the smaller colored ones in our “studio/office” area. (writing and art centers). They are the perfect size for labeling our supplies’ containers.

These are SO CUTE! I just blogged about your generosity (I didn’t put a picture of the blank borders so I don’t think I violated your terms of use- but check to make sure it is okay just in case!!) and directed popel to your TPT page. These are perfect for the classroom and I have so many ideas for them! Thank you so much for sharing your hard work!!!

Just started this adventure of reading AND learning from all you smart and clever young teachers! I’m returning to my love and passion of exploration and discovery with young children. Specifically I decided to return to a faith based teaching position, BUT I’m in VPK. All of my experience is from first grade! Wow! What an eye opener. I did sub work this spring, so I got some good exposure. My classroom has been used for summer camp. I still don’t have free access till Thursday, so I’m trying to do as much as possible. The room is in desperate need of being totally and completely reorganized! Even I know it’s not inviting! Thank you, thank you! Ihave learned so much already from just reading and exploring. Just wanted you to know how much appreciate it. BTW, I’m in Central Florida!

LOVE the polka dots!! I have Micosoft Office 10. I’m having a hard time figuring out how to get my own text in the box. Can you help?

Reply

Karen August 26, 2011 at 11:38 pm

Carrie,
Unfortunately, I don’t have Microsoft Office 10 & have never used it, so I don’t know. I have directions for Word 2007 included in the file. You have to draw a text box on top of the label. There are many tutorials online for Microsoft programs, try you tube.

Take a look at this link here: http://prekinders.com/2011/07/storage-organization/
Most of them are stored in the “Month Boxes”. It’s easiest to store the math centers by months. That way they all get used at some point in the year.

Is there any way to type onto the labels within the word document? I’ve tried everything I can think of and can’t get it to work. I hate my handwriting so I’d rather just type in them and hit print!

Directions are enclosed with the set. You’ll need to draw a text box on top of the label.
