Members can join special interest groups for specific discussions. An example would be to discuss a book the group is reading, or discuss a specific curriculum, or discuss Pre-K education in a particular state. If you would like to have a group added, please send me a request.

Every member has the ability to post a poll in their post. To do this, see the "Additional Options" box when you write your message.

I have a system set up to allow some members more privileges by "promoting" them to a different membership level. The requirement to be promoted is to prove you are human (not a spam bot), not a human spammer, and that you follow the forum rules. "Promoted" members have more privileges. One of those privileges is a photo album of 5 pictures. I realize this is not a lot, but when multiplied by the number of members, it will add up, and I have to have a limit on the amount of space that is used. Please limit your album to photos of your classroom or other educational photos that you wish to share with the forum community. Photos that are not related to education will be deleted. If you wish to share more photos, there are many free photo sharing services available, e.g. Flickr, Picasa, and others.

New members will not be able to create Albums.

New members will be able to post signatures containing text only. "Promoted" members will be permitted to include links in their signature, as well as change their font colors.

The purpose of this is to prevent spammers from placing links to spam sites or sites infected with viruses.

Members have the ability to upload their own avatar & profile picture.

Members also have the ability to personalize their Profile by editing the font style, font colors, borders, and background images.

Members can add information about themselves on the Profile page. You can write messages on your own or other members' profiles in the "Visitor Messages" section. You may also delete other member's messages on your own Profile page.

Members can also hide their Profile from others.

You can choose to be "invisible" to other members. To do this, click "Forum Actions" in the red navigation bar at the top. Then click "Forum Settings" on the drop down menu.

Being invisible means that you will not be shown as being online to other members. However, Moderators and Administrators will still be able to see that you are online.
