Flower Grid Game: Blooming Math Fun for Preschoolers!
Materials Needed:
To begin, gather your materials: a game die, the printable grid game, and some small flower manipulatives. You can opt for a grid game with either 10 spaces for beginners, or go for a grid with 20 spaces for those who are ready to count even higher!
This grid game uses small ribbon roses which can be found in any craft store. They come in a small bag, and are usually with bridal items. Children place the flowers on the stems.
Here’s how to play the Flower Counting Game:
- Children take turns rolling the game die. They identify the amount of dots on the die and count out that exact number of manipulatives.
- Each manipulative is then placed over one picture in the grid. Children will fill up the grid with flowers.
Not only does this activity reinforce counting skills, but it also encourages fine motor development as children carefully place each flower on the grid. Plus, the visual appeal of the ribbon flowers adds an extra layer of excitement to the game!
So, gather your little ones and get ready for a blooming good time with this fun flower grid game.
